Acne scars are commonplace with severe forms of acne, but even people who have mild or moderate acne can developing scar tissue. This is most often due to poor or untimely acne treatment of acne scars.

The space between these two layers will be filled with dermal fillers or by blood that will naturally fill in the empty space.

Less Invasive Acne scar treatments

Surgery isn't the only form of scar treatment. You can choose from resurfacing techniques (chemical peels, dermabrasion and microdermabrasion) and scar creams. Laser therapy has also been successful in treating acne scars.

Chemical peels and dermabrasion are superficial treatments that work by removing the skin. This will help boost the production of new and healthy skin cells that will then replace the layers that were removed. Both of these treatment options require anesthesia, wound care and a certain recovery period.

Chemical peels use different acids to eliminate different dermal layers. There are light, medium and deep peels. Dermabrasion, on the other hand, relies on an abrasive wand to remove the epidermis.

If you prefer microdermabrasion or the application of scar creams, then treatment is quite different. These treatments don't require anesthesia and can be performed virtually anywhere.

For a scar cream to be effective it should contain ingredients that help dissolve scar tissue. Ingredients capable of offering such benefits are Helix aspersa muller extract and rose hip seed oil. Both are capable of removing damaged skin and helping replace it with new healthy skin.

If you have dry skin or sensitive skin then scar creams are probably your best option. Undergoing any other type of option may be too hard on your skin.
