When dealing with more severe cases, cystic acne treatment might require a combination of isotreitinoin and antibiotics. Steroid injections may also be needed to help dissolve cysts and nodules quickly.

Depending on the severity of the scar, it may be necessary to resort to surgery in order to remove cysts that do not respond to other treatment options. Your physician may also try draining certain cysts.

Besides the treatments mentioned above, you can also help your skin stay healthy by being vigilant with your cleansing routine. Daily cleansing is important in order to keep skin free from debris and excess oils. Remember, healthy skin is better equipped to handle aggression both from within and outside of the body.
