Three Natural Acne Treatments
Acne sufferers are likely to have spent hundreds buying up products that promise to rid their skin of acne. OTC creams and prescription medication are often used. However, a new and safer trend is making its way to consumers - natural acne treatments.
Natural acne treatments have been around even longer than most traditional treatments. Ask anyone and they will give you one or more acne home remedy recipes. And, despite what you may think, a lot of these recipes are actually quite effective in treating acne.
Natural acne treatments are ingested or applied topically and may include ingredients such as herbs or plants. Here is a quick review of three of the most effective natural acne treatments.
Acne Diet and Hydration
If you want to treat your acne effectively then you should consider modifying your diet. A diet rich in foods that contain Vitamin C, Vitamin A, and essential fatty acid is ideal for fighting acne breakouts.
Drinking plenty of water is also an effective way of helping reduce the appearance of acne in the skin. It helps hydrate your tissues and eliminate wastes either through perspiration or urine. Both hydration and proper dieting are good for your health and for your acne skin care.
Using Salicylic Acid or Acetylsalicylic Acid as Acne Medication
Salicylic Acid has been used as an important ingredient in many acne creams. It causes the skin cells to shed more easily, opens clogged pores, and neutralizes bacteria. It is also known to reduce hyperpigmentation when used in higher concentrations.
An inexpensive acne treatment alternative to more high end products that contain salicylic acid is aspirin. However, skin care products containing this ingredient are more effective than simple aspirin tablets because they offer a higher concentration of salicylic acid.
If you insist on using aspirin, then you can use aspirin as an exfoliant or in a mask. To make it into a mask, simply dissolve 3 or 4 adult aspirins with a tablespoon of water and make a paste. Once the paste is ready, apply it all over your face or on the affected area.
You can also add yogurt and/or honey to make the aspirin mask thicker in consistency. If you are allergic to aspirin, do not use this type of mask as it can cause irritation.
Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil has been used in Australia to treat dandruff and Candidiasis. It is considered to be a potent antiseptic and can be used to treat acne. In fact, its results are much like those achieved using benzoyl peroxide, however, the results take longer to appear.
Tea tree oil is used as a topical treatment. However, it must be diluted since it can lead to irritation. Once you've finished you should use a moisturizer to counteract the dryness brought on by this product.
By using natural acne remedies such as BIOSKINCLEAR and BIOACNECARE you can help aid acne prevention. These natural products may not be the ultimate cures for acne but they can definitely help get rid of mild to moderate acne and stubborn teen acne without causing harmful side effects common in most traditional treatments.
